Last week The Rolling Stones broke news to fans that they will be postponing their 2019 ” No Filter” tour which would have started at the end of this month in Miami. “I’m so sorry to all our fans in America & Canada with tickets. I really hate letting you down like this. I’m devastated for having to postpone the tour but I will be working very hard to be back on stage as soon as I can. Just three weeks before the group was supposed to kick off their North American tour, doctors advised the iconic frontman Mick Jagger to rest while receiving unspecified medical treatment in the States.

Rolling Stones were at the forefront of British bands invading America, making their start back in 1964 they were known for their international hits ‘I can’t get no’ and ‘Paint it Black’. They found their music stride playing psychedelic rock and Chicago blues and created more than 30 albums in the span of their career. Named after the Muddy Waters song “Rollin’ Stone,” the original band included frontman Mick Jagger, guitarists Keith Richards and Brian Jones, bassist Bill Wyman, drummer Charlie Watts and pianist Ian Stewart. Guitarist Ron Wood didn’t join Jagger, Richards, and Watts until 1975, long after the band had already created a name for themselves. Becoming too big to perform in clubs by the early 1960s, the Rolling Stones were forced to go on their first British tour, creating a major buzz within the British rock and roll and grunge scene. In June 1964, the band got their big break flying into America to perform concerts and to record at Chess Studios in Chicago as well as the Hollywood RCA Studios, where they captured the vibrant, psychedelic sounds we hear in some of their later work. People to this day will argue that they built the mold for generations of music including multiple groups such as The Who, Led Zepplin, and Aerosmith. When the Beatles hit international stardom in 1963, the Rolling Stones were right on their heels, putting the British music scene on the map. The Beatles were in their prime, growing respectable and reassuring, as the Stones became equally more rebellious and threatening. When it came to their music and lifestyle the Rolling Stones kept to their roots of darkness and grunge, spending more time in court and jail than in the studio. While the Beatles became known as the good-boy band influencing pop rock, the Rolling Stones were quite the opposite, becoming known as the bad-boy band influencing blues-rock, hard rock, and grunge. Greatly influencing rock and roll throughout the decades, the Stones sold more than 200 million albums worldwide and have been rocking on for more than 50 years, making them one of the longest performing rock bands of all time.
